Violence on Peoria Streets

My friend, the Peoria Anti-pundit, has an excellent blog that speaks of the Violence in Peoriaread ut here.
The fact is he is dead on with this post. Peoria is indeed losing convention business to other cities. I heard on the radio today that the LWML, an organization of Lutheran Women, is holding its convention here. It was stated that this is the largest convention to date held at the PCC. The report also stated the economic impact for this convention is over $2 million.
That makes me wonder just how much outsider money Peoria doesn't get because of the fear of getting shot at a convention. I know for a fact that a major state convention that was tentatively set for Peoria in 2012 will NOT be in Peoria. The reason..... VIOLENCE!
I suggest Peoria civic leaders, The Horseshoe, the occupants of the old Damon's on the riverfront, The PD and the CVB in their luxury office in the twin towers mall get their heads together and find out what can be done to stop the violence before the civic center loses all its convention business!
